Are you going skiing today?

My friend asked me if I was going skiing today. I had to be honest. I am totally burned out of the snow plow. I am tired of the magic carpet and the Little Beaver lift. I can ski down those runs backwards, and I do quite often. I think I have forgotten how to use my ski poles and how it feels to ski down a black. I am just kiddy hilled out.

This season has taught me a lot. I finally understand why my dad would hang back on the mountain to "watch us" ski down first. There are two reasons I have concluded...
1. To pick us up when we fall, it's a lot easier to get to your kid when you are above them then when you have to hike back up to get them
2. That way you can actually sort of ski beyond the ski plow.

Lets just say the outside of my quads are quite developed this season. I am not burned out from skiing, and I am planning on going this week. I just couldn't bring myself to do it today... maybe Friday?  I do love Beaver Mountains and all of it's lifts, I am excited to ski with my kiddies and I love doing it, but today was just not one of those days. Happy Lazy Wednesday!

Say What? Yeah I Don't Know Either.

So I wanted to start blogging a little bit more frequently (say every Wednesday) and I have been thinking about what to write about all day. Lately I have been really tired, mostly because Mr 3yrs decided to stop sleeping through the night. If you must know why I will tell you the long story later... after I have gotten a good nights sleep. Anyway, the video below pretty much sums up my thoughts today for this post as I am on exhaustion NINE days running.

So yeah, from now on I will be blogging every Wednesday, I may throw somethings in before then, because this is my blog, but you can expect something on "the Wednesday." I am also going to start making videos again on Youtube so if you don't have an account there, get one, and subscribe... What? oh right, PLEASE! Okay here is hoping to an actual full night sleep. Zzzzzzzzzzz

Why Can't I Eat Fish Too?

As many of you know I have a house full of boys. Its not something that I am sad about. I really love the fact that the only one with crazy emotions is me. Well anyway, because we have boys we don't do a lot of "princess watching" unless you count Princess Leah in Star Wars. What I meant is we only own ONE Disney princess movie. The Little Mermaid is not the one. However I have been pondering a question (wow that was a long intro for one silly question.)

What do merpeople eat? If I remember correctly King Triton was angry at the land dwellers because they were fish eaters... so what did King Triton eat? Surely they didn't just live off of seaweed, which is super delicious when it's wrapped around rice and... fish. Oh, maybe this was a conspiracy to indoctrinate our children into being vegans... nah just kidding.

Well, you have just had the joy of visiting "things I ponder."  Until next time!

Something's on My Mind and I Can't Get It Off.

I found out, about a week ago, that one of my Youtube "friends" died. At first I thought it was a joke, because quite frankly he has a whole Youtube channel dedicated to his practical jokes. But its not, he is gone.

I had never met the guy, he lives in the UK. The reason he was my "friend" was, he was the first to comment on my channel, the first to give me encouraging words on my videos, and he was so entertaining in his own videos. The problem is, even though I don't know this guy I feel like a really good friend is gone. I have been quite upset and confused about it.

And I quote myself: "One of my friends, well not really my friend, but someone I watch on Youtube..."

The funny thing about most youtubers is you know so much about their lives. because they are willing to share it, that you really do feel like they are your friends.

This guy was a great youtuber and had a lot of loyal followers. I think it's because he was so encouraging to others, saying how great their videos were, and I think he really meant it too. That is certainly a legacy in and of it self. I will miss his videos and encouraging words. I guess I don't really understand the impact that people have on each other. It is really quite amazing!

I feel a bit silly about this, but I just can't seem to get it off my mind.

Well here are his last two Youtube uploads. I guess this is it...

The problems with

The problem with a doing stuff blog is I am doing stuff.
The problem with doing stuff is I am so tired by the time the event is over I just want to sit.
The problem with sitting is it's not in front of the computer.
The problem with not being in front of the computer is that I forget to blog about doing stuff.

To quote (sort of) one of my favorite books, The Princess Bride,

"What with one thing and another, three [months] passed."

I have decided to make this a whatever I feel like doing and saying blog. I felt unwarranted pressure to get videos out and to blog so much that it became a burden not a release. I want this to be fun. Seriously. So...

The problem with a doing stuff blog was that it was too rigid and not fun doing stuff.

This is my blog and mine only. Its my party I can dance if I want to.

My Date with a Doctorate Student

My dating life is going down the hole. It's true. I have dated two incredibly younger boys (see post below) and now I am dating a man that has no spare time. I am definitely doing the chasing in this relationship. It's totally worth it, this guy is hot!

About our date; the mood was set. We had a roaring fire, a big comfy blanket, a book of poetry by a world renowned poet, sparkling bubbly and candy covered chocolate. The night was ours to spend together, just the two of us. It was a movie magic night...

Well, it could have been, if we really used our imagination caps...

The mood was set: At the kitchen table, dishes in the sink, computers, and homework
Roaring fire: full screen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLmwmX-mni8
Big Comfy Blanket: I was the only one in the blanket since I can't seem to get warm between the months of October and May
Book of Poetry: A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein, enough said.
Sparkling Bubbly: Powerade Zero and Water (that had been sitting for a bit so there were bubbles on the side of the glass)
Candy Covered Chocolate: plain M&M's (totally gross with the flavor of Powerade, bleh)
The night to spend: Ya, he is working on a big project due the next day.

It was still time spent together, maybe not undivided time, but I got to sit next to my honey and just be. Plus I totally revisited some of my childhood memories by reading A light in the Attic.

This was a date to remember...
